Tonight "ChefLikeMine™" makes its debut!!! I am really excited about this new adventure! As I sit in ChefLikeMine's Bistro, at the black granite surfaced bar, I am chatting with ChefLikeMine™ about how this blog came to be and will now share that story with you.
I have been fortunate enough to have ChefLikeMine™ in my Bistro a number of years but early in 2008 the Bistro remodel project was completed. The remodel resulted in a Bistro that most people only see in their imaginations!!! It is loaded with amenities...Viking appliances, including the prized 48" stove with 6 burners and a griddle, stainless steel pot filler, over sized farmhouse style stainless steel sink, heated travertine floors, bright white custom cabinetry, unbelievable outdoor views, and all of it wrapped in two different granites, crown molding, and Harrington beige walls. It's awesome and is the perfect hub for ChefLikeMine™ creations!
The love of food, eating at the finest restaurants all over the world (England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan), and the rave reviews of friends and family who have enjoyed ChefLikeMine's creations have been THE inspiration for ChefLikeMine™ and this blog.
After a busy day of family activities we stopped at the local market to pick up the ingredients for tonight's ChefLikeMine™ creations.
For starters, an unbelievable roasted beet salad on a bed of soft cheeses (mascarpone and goat) whipped with butter and topped with julienne pears and the middle portion of the scallion greens. The main course was one of my favorites...asiago encrusted halibut on a bed of garlic mashed sweet potatoes and lemon-kissed asparagus. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!! I forgot to mention that the inspiration for the beet salad was from a local restaurant in Up Town and I am pleased to report that once again ChefLikeMine™ has done it...he has perfectly replicated the roasted beet salad!!! What talent!!!
